We take your privacy seriously and handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how you can control it.
What we collect
- When you buy a report: your name, email address, and the property listing link or address you give us at checkout. Payment is processed by Stripe — we never see or store your card number.
- When you email us: whatever you choose to include, and your email address so we can reply.
- When you visit the site: standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages viewed) held briefly by our hosting provider for security and reliability. We do not run advertising trackers on this site.
Why we collect it
- To build and deliver the Property Decision Report you ordered, and to answer your questions about it.
- To take payment and issue receipts (via Stripe).
- To keep the site secure and working.
- To let you know about The Buyer's Grail if you've asked us to — you can opt out at any time.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your property search with the selling agent, the vendor, or anyone else.
Who we share it with
Only the providers we need to run the service, each of whom handles data under their own privacy terms: Stripe (payments), Netlify (website hosting), and Google Workspace (email). Some of these providers store data outside Australia. We do not otherwise disclose personal information unless required by law.
How long we keep it
Order records and the report we produced for you are kept so we can honour any follow-up questions and meet our own record-keeping obligations. You can ask us to delete your personal information at any time; we'll do so unless we're legally required to retain it.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or raise a concern about how we've handled it, by emailing howdy@thebuyersgrail.com. We'll respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Cookies
This site uses only the minimum needed to work — for example remembering which state you selected. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Not advice
Property Decision Reports are general information and education only. They are not financial, legal or property advice and not a professional valuation, and they do not consider your objectives, financial situation or needs.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top. Material changes will be flagged on the site.
